This is the second Sevylor boat I have bought at Johns Cross, the first being a Sevylor Canyon. I use both boats for fishing. A friend and I each purchased a TMT260 and equipped them with a 40lb thrust electric trolling outboard motor. Took them out to sea yeasterday for the first time and was very impressed. I must stress at this point it was a very calm day with short tides, the wind did blow up to about 12-15mph in the afternoon and the boats were fine, however any windier and you could start to encounter difficulties, so make sure you check on the Met Office website before such an undertaking. The boats made about the same speed as you paddle an inflatable kayak, powered by a 85ah leisure battery and doing quite a few hours of staggered motoring the batteries lasted all morning and were still showing full power when we came ashore. Having fished the sea several times with an inflatable kayak, the obvious advantage of the tender type boat is the added stability due to the wider surface area on the water. The boat is very easy to set up and inflate and just as easy to deflate and stow back in the bag supplied. A small amount of water found its way into the boat, as is the case with most inflatables, though with such items as camera and mobile phone in a plastic tupperware type container with a sealed lid, and a sponge this is no problem at all. The only real disadvantage is the boat in the bag is fairly heavy so if you parked any distance away from the water a small trolley would be useful. This boat represents excellent value for money, whether being used for fishing, as a tender or for just family fun.
Product: Sevylor Tahiti K109HF Kayak Posted By: N/A

Note: The blue storage bag featured in this product description is NOT part of the package, which is a bit misleading.
I have two of these inflatables and I can recommend them highly. If you can get it around the £100 mark then it is a bargain. This Sevylor model dates back to the 60's. Apparently it was used to navigate the length of the Amazon twice, and I can vouch for the durability with minimal care. This model is nowhere near as good as other inflatables currently available that seek to address more sporting or extreme use. However, the price reflects that.
What you do get is a large and tough specimen which is brilliant for casual use on a canal or slow river. This 2+1 size is great for two adults to be able to spend the day on comfortably (leave middle seat out) with room left over for books, picnic, etc. The smaller 2-person version of the Tahiti is a bit cramped.
The relatively wide flat bottom and large side compartments make it fairly stable, but can be a bit of a handful to paddle on your own if there's a bit of wind because its low weight makes it sit high and it can skate a bit. A 'skeg' (fin) is available as an add-on to give it some straight line stability and speed. I have one and it works quite well as long as there is sufficient weight at the rear to make sure it is submerged.
Using a dual action stirrup pump will get this inflated with some effort (approximately 700-900 litres required!). I have just bought a 12V air pump to use on it, and I can fully pressurize it at the end with brief use of the stirrup pump. Simple visual gauges on the side compartments let you know when they are sufficiently pressurized.
In brief, solid and safe product at a very good price. Not for overly serious use (unless you are very experienced) but superb for casual use without having to fork out 2-3 times more. Would recommend getting a cheap, large carry-all for storage. Equally, don't bother spending out fortunes on paddles, but try and go for ones which have 'drip rings' part way down the shaft to keep some water out. |

PLEASE NOTE: I haven't used this item yet, so have only rated it 3 stars as I can't comment fully yet. This review is just to clarify some additional things which are not apparent in the product description here.
Want to use mine to inflate an inflatable kayak which needs about 900 ltrs of air, so even a two handed stirrup pump is hard work!
Notes: -
1. Was advised that output might be insufficient to pressurize kayak sufficiently, so might have to finish off with stirrup pump. 2. The power lead is just under 3m long, and the flexible hose attachment is about 67cm, so you have a total reach of approximately 3.5m 3. In operation, the manual says the unit will draw 5-11 Amps, so if you want to get an extension lead, you will have to go for one which is rated at 10 Amps. |
Product: Coleman Standard Sling Chair Posted By: N/A
|
I'm not usually a fan of this style of chair, but this was extremely comfy, especially with the high back, so you can nod off without getting neck ache!!! Surprisingly light weight and packs up fairly small too - much smaller than the enormous chair my other half chose!!!

Product: Aztec Eagle 8 person Tent 2008 Posted By: N/A
|
| I have had my Aztec eagle 8 for 4rs now, bargain at £169! Yes its heavy but its sturdy and tough. I would have given 5* if groundsheet was build in. No one seems to build a decent sized tent anymore. These are a classic and well proven. see more reviews on uk campsites. |
Product: Folding Camp Table Posted By: N/A
|
| I thought this table was fantastic for the price that I paid. It is really lightweight and the carrying handle made life alot easier. I found that although it is lightweight it is also remarkably sturdy. It was never going to be rock solid with a thin fibre top but I was very impressed. |
Product: Campingaz Camp Bistro Stove Posted By: N/A

| Fabulous little campingaz stove. Lit first time everytime. Only used 2 gas cannisters over a weekends camping, very economical. Really light and portable, would take it on picnics and days out etc. Will be buying a second one soon for greater flexibility, much better than other larger stoves i've used which require big bulky gas bottles |

Product: Coleman Cooler Combo 48QT Coolbox Set Posted By: N/A
|
| I had Coleman coolers when I lived in the US, as this brand has a very good reputation there. Solid as a rock. Glad to report that the version available in UK is similar build quality - very durable. The bigger chest cooler works great as a bench (for 1 person, or 2 at a squeeze) or a transport box - nearly big enough to need wheels though.... The other smaller coolers are good for day-trips and for the kids. |

Product: Quattro Plus Metropolis Calor Gas Heater Posted By: N/A

Product: Kampa Rally Monsoon Pole Posted By: N/A

| We brought 3 of these for our kampa rally 390 awning, great addition to strengthen the roof. |
Product: Kampa Rally 390 Caravan Porch Awning Posted By: N/A
|
We have the Kampa Rally 390, only used it twice but very pleased with it, Easy to put up, the fabric is more robust than other awnings of the same type we have seen, and the poles seem quite good quality too. We bought the rear upright pole set and that helps to hold the padded edges of the awning close to the van. There's plenty of internal headroom at the front of the awning, the front panels can be rolled up or propped open as a sun canopy with the extra poles supplied and the two side doors have fly screen mesh behind them

Product: Sevylor Colorado Kayak Posted By: N/A
|
| I love my Sevylor Colorado. I ordered online and received a green one. I used it A LOT for a year and a half. Noticed I was losing some air. Pulled out the inner tube and tried to find the hole....no luck. More recently I noticed I was losing air from the other side chamber. Found the hole (probably caused from a fish hook) and patched it. I believe the slow leak I could not find was due to over-inflation.....especially on hot days when the air expands. Have been on rapids, bouncing off sharp rocks, but mainly on flat water. This thing is built to take a beating! Can stand up in it too. Just got a new one recently. The newer models are 2 tone colored and do not have the skeg attachment on the bottom. |
Product: Coleman Xtreme Cooler 36QT Coolbox Posted By: N/A

Product: Coleman Ultimate Wheeled Cooler 50qt Coolbox Posted By: N/A
|
| This has been a great purchase as it saves lugging heavy cool boxes from car to picnics, especially useful if lots of bottles to be carried! Only gripe would be that pulling handle is a little flimsy and comes off occasionally. Friends reactions have been laughter followed by distinct cooler box envy! I would buy again |
